How to play
Five minutes. One liar.
Nobody reads a rulebook. Type in some names, hand the phone to your left, and the round runs itself.
One of you is faking.
Everyone sees the same secret word. The imposter sees nothing.
Say one word.
Take turns describing it. Prove you know it without giving it away.
Then argue.
Accuse, defend, change your mind. The clock is running.
Vote them out.
Most votes goes out. A tie means nobody does, and the imposter wins.
See who was faking.
The imposter is revealed with the word. Catch them and the crew wins.
One round, start to finish
Four screens between
a secret and a verdict.
The phone goes round, the clock runs, the table argues, and somebody gets it wrong.
Lift your card.
Everyone sees the same word. One of you sees a hint, or nothing.

Pick something the whole
table has opinions about.
From easy openers to the decks that start real arguments. Take one, or shuffle six together and deal from all of them.
What makes a round go wrong
The rules that ruin friendships.
Imposters know each other.
Play with more than one and they are handed each other's names. Two imposters are a team covering for one another, not two people bluffing in parallel and accidentally sinking each other in round one.
One round breaks the rules.
The Mystery Twist. Nobody is told which round it is. Sometimes nobody is faking. Sometimes everybody is. Sometimes the imposter is handed a word and never told it is the wrong one.
Mercy, optional.
Give the imposter a hint drawn from the same deck. Never the real word. The game draws it after the secret, so the two can never match.
Talk fast.
Anything from one minute to ten, three by default. The last ten seconds carry a sound, and when the clock hits zero everybody votes, ready or not.
Who lies best.
Play three, five, seven or ten rounds. Scores carry across the night — wins as crew, wins as the imposter — and everyone finds out which one they are.
Nobody screenshots the card.
Screenshots and screen recordings are blocked the whole time the app is open, and it hides itself in the app switcher. The word cannot leave the phone it was dealt on.
Play it in your colour.
Five accent colours — red, turquoise, fuchsia, crimson and blue — and light, dark or whatever the phone is already set to. The whole app follows, imposter included.
Nothing to sign up for.
No account, no lobby code, no internet. One phone on the table and everybody leaning in. 24 languages, picked on device.
